Louison Dubief (Fernie Nordic Racer alumni & Alberta World Cup Academy athlete) and Ella Fuller (Fernie Nordic Racer) have earned their spots on Team Canada and are headed to Lillehammer, Norway for the World Junior Championships!
Ella has also secured a spot on the 2026 CCBC B-Tour to Sweden and will be staying on after the World Cup to participate! This is a high-level cross-country skiing development trip and this year features the National Cup Series Final in Lycksele, Sweden.
Fernie Nordic Society is coordinating fundraising to support these athletes in this incredible opportunity of international competition. We are leveraging our Athlete Development Fund (thanks to previous donors) to support Ella and Louison and invite you to contribute!
How you can support
1 – Please consider donating to help offset the travel costs for these athletes.
While there is support from Cross Country BC and Nordiq Canada, a significant portion of costs are covered by the individuals. We can arrange for cheque (made out to Fernie Nordic Society) or etransfer to info@fernienordic.com with memo: World Cup, cash or online payment via the button below linked to our Square site. All donations will be directed to Ella and Louison.
2 – Come out for our community send-off Tuesday February 10th at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre!
Dress in your Canadian colours, bring a sign of support (Go Canada Go! and signs for Ella and Louison encouraged!) and help us wish our Fernie Nordic Racers all the best on this adventure. We are gathering at 4:15 PM with remarks at 4:30. We will be accepting donations on-site.
